Tulsa Hub supports neighborhood bicycle rides, especially those organized in under-served areas and those focusing on the social and political histories of the communities in which we work. In the past, we have worked with the OU-Tulsa School of Urban Design, INCOG, and have helped to lead Ride Through the Massacre and other historical rides. We're happy to talk with you about a ride you'd like to organize, and we can help by providing bicycles, racks, and other equipment for you to use. We ask for a $5 per bicycle fee to help offset the cost of fuel and wear and tear on the bicycles. We can also provide staff riders and mechanics to ride along with you for $20 per hour per staff member requested. We have over 6,500 social media followers and would be happy to blast your event as well!
Lacy Park ride | sat, may 12th
Join the Lacy Park Advisory Council and Tulsa Hub for a slow roll ride for EVERYONE on Saturday, May 12th. Whether you're a seasoned rider or want to try out a bike again after a few decades, you belong here. We'll have plenty of extra bikes and helmets to borrow! A safety training course will happen every 30 minutes beginning at 9am and ending at 11am. During that time we'll also have mechanics on hand performing light repairs and doing basic repair demonstrations. Then we'll ride 3 and 8 mile loops around the area and back to Lacy Park. Pre-registration is not required, but contact Arianna with any questions! firstname.lastname@example.org, 918-813-0028.
sySTEMic RIDES | beginning in june
sySTEMic rides are weekly slow rolls designed to facilitate conversation and community. We begin at Tulsa Hub where we explore different aspects of bicycle maintenance (changing tubes, brake systems, bottom brackets, etc.) from 5:15pm - 6:00pm, then we ride from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, stopping for dinner along the way. At dinner we explore local bicycling equity issues and discuss ideas and solutions to transportation equity issues we face in our neighborhoods. All are welcome to join - just give us a heads up beforehand if you're short on cash and we'll be happy to cover your meal. Contact Arianna - email@example.com / 405-808-7268 with questions or to schedule a ride in your area!
